From social media
Part one
As it is impossible to verify their sources and translation, the various post on social media are not necessarily reliable. Nevertheless, they are inspiring, and therefore they might deserve to be posted. Please be aware that they no not necessarily represent original words of the Great 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. If you know the source of one of the “quotes”, it would be highly apprecialted if you would inform me. Thanks a lot in advance.
All sentient beings experience a tiring and never-ending cycle of birth and death. They are also influenced by delusions of the mind. Everything changes constantly. The Buddha's teachings include simple meditation techniques to calm the mind. They make it transparent and radiant. Meditation cleans the habitual tendencies of our mind. Thanks to it, we gain the ability to help all sentient beings. The main purpose of Buddhist methods is to benefit others and ourselves. If we act for the benefit of all sentient beings, we certainly enrich ourselves in this way as well.
The 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje
When H.H. The 16th. Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje was in Singapore to officially open and consecrate the Karma Kagyud Center, the chairman of the Center asked His Holiness,
"Can your Holiness advise us on how to attract good people to the Center?"
His Holiness then retorted, "What?" "Only the good people?" "And the bad ones you don't care?"

When a Bodhisattva makes a prayer of aspiration, it is never meaningless; it has a great effect on those for whom he prays. This effect comes from the great strength of his aspiration affecting others. It does not come from his trying to do anything, but rather it comes from effortlessness. No amount of effort could ever have such strength. Effortlessness is an ultimate approach. Trying to do something is a mundane approach. I will pray that you will all develop greatly in love and compassion and that the dharma will go on increasing until you all attain realization.
H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa
You keep going. That is the bodhisattva's way. As long as it benefits even one being you have to, without any sense of discouragement, go on.
H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa
Face difficulties and obstacles in the course of your Dharma work with perseverance and confidence and success will be your reward at the end of the day.
H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa
I will remain firm,
dignified and fearless like a mountain.
Until this collection of elements
has rotten away
I will not waver from this way of being.
Of this way I will be a fearless warrior –
that will be my quality.
This is my vow, like an image carved in stone.
May it be virtuous!

H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa
With your supreme intelligence, you realized the intention
Of the unsurpassable vehicle, the tradition of Padmakara.
Guru of unequalled kindness, I remember you from my heart.
I supplicate you—bless me with your compassion.
I, Pema Trinley Palzang, a performer of three activities,
From now on, will take control of my own discipline in thought and deed.
I make a firm commitment, as follows,
To avoid thoughtlessness and senselessness.
In physical conduct, I will not allow myself to be rootless and hurried,
Incapable of being still, carelessly following my every whim.
I will always hold my own space
And be adorned by the training in pure discipline.

The 16th Gyalwa Karmapa on what is an authentic master:
HH: "I will tell you what a guru is not. It is not someone who is interested in fame, who is teaching for the sake of renown, for the sake of wealth. It is not one who, when he is in the presence of many people, puts on all the qualities of goodness that might be appropriate for a teacher, using whatever appearances are necessary—wearing the mask of the Dharma, so to speak— but insincerely, because the reality is much different. When he is away from a crowd of people, he actually wants as much as anyone else wants, if not more. Discrimination between beings, selfishness, all these negative states are present in him, and have not been transformed. That is, unfortunately, what takes place too frequently these days, and it brings a negative influence to the spiritual path. It fosters a negative view of spiritual friends in general, among people who are ignorant about who should be regarded as a true guru. They might encounter someone who is a true teacher, but fail to relate to him because of having gone through other experiences of the negative nature I have just explained."
